Sorry, but a metal bowl (no trash cans in evidence) would hold liquid nitrogen for a while just fine. I do have to say that I'd have been wearing more protective gear. If he'd sloshed that stuff onto his skin he's have been in the hospital under the name "one hurtin' unit". I've handled SMALL amounts of that stuff, and was far more careful with it. :)

It's not even a trash can. He's holding a metal bowl and a towel to protect his hands. Looks like Liquid nitrogen to me.

ive seen liquid nitrogen in action
and i mean like pouring out of a container
it looked a lot like liq. nitro. in the vid
also, it would take a few moments for the bucket to get brittle

I can't see any evidence to suggest the "trash-can" isnt brittle and frozen, nor that this liquid acted like anything other than its apparent video label - Liquid Nitrogen, which pours as a liquid and omits gas as warmed, as Matt pointed out Dry Ice would. The lack of splash was a bit weird, but if you follow the point of entry, the gas is actually expanding across that pool at roughly the same rate a small wave would, thus it is probably obscuring any immediate waves created by the LN2. It does look a bit rippled as the camera pans. :)

That looks and acts like a liquid would. Dry Ice would fall to the bottom of the pool and bubble off gas as it was warmed up by the water. I didn't see a splash like dry ice would make hitting the water surface.
